Harlem is one of only two incorporated cities in Columbia County. It is a small, historic town, known for its Southern charm and the fact that it's the birthplace of comedian Oliver Hardy. Located about 25 miles west of Augusta, the town has a population of around 4,000 and features a quiet, close-knit community vibe. Every October, the city holds the Oliver Hardy Festival. Harlem is also home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum.
